The apparatus for treating harvested red cabbage is designed for sorting cabbage into quality grades by collection with preparation and processing of the cabbage shreds at one place of production. The main component is a sorting conveyor (4) which is assigned a defoliation conveyor (3). The sorting conveyor (4) is linked to a rollway (17), sliding transverse conveyors (6), cabbage shredder (9) with automatic supply (20), souring vat (7) and discharge cart (10).<IMAGE>
