A general-purpose shaped brick (1) for forming the support system of fire-resistant lining, enabling insertion of the fired goods on the stock in furnace aggregates, which is made of two arms with top and bottom bearing surfaces (4). The general-purpose shaped brick is equipped with a front interlock (3) and at least one side interlock (2), allowing stacking of bricks (1) in the construction. The bearing surfaces (4) are interrupted by recesses (5) which both lower heat transmission and allow stretching of the insulation matting.<IMAGE>
