The head is intended for strengthening and positioning solid, slightly magnetic rock samples while measuring the vector of remanent magnetic polarisation. The head consists of an annular collar (1) with hollow shank (11) detachably fitted to the drive shaft (14) and spherical case (2), pivoted in the annular collar (1) on the axial pins (4, 5), enclosing with the axis of the hollow shank (11) and axis of the annular collar (1) an angle of 54.70 degrees and equipped with a distance bolt (7) for fixing the rock sample (8), whilst the control axial pin (5) is mechanically joined to the spherical case (12) and inside it there is a key profile (13) for a manipulation key (10).<IMAGE>
