A drafting material is provided comprising a transparent support and at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer containing (a) gelatin, (b) one or more silica matting agents, (c) an opacifying agent, preferably titanium dioxide, (d) an epoxysilane compound, (e) a polyurethane latex and (f) a hardening agent. The material can further contain a brightening agent and an antistatic agent. The support preferably is thermostable polyethylene terephtalate. The material shows excellent physical and drawing properties. It is suited for uptake of pencil, ink and toner particles.
