In the pneumatic radial tire, particular polyamide monofilament cords having an ellipsoidal shape in section are used in a radial carcass ply, whereby reductions of tire noise, rolling resistance and tire weight are achieved. Furthermore, such monofilament cords can be applied to a carcass ply for pneumatic bias tires for preventing the occurrence of air storing and improving tire performances. |
