(A) Benzodiazepine derivs. of general formula (I): B = a carbonyl- or methylene group; n = 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7; R1= H, halogen, lower alkyl, nitro, cyano or trifluoromethyl; R2 = H, lower alkyl, hydroxy or lower alkanoyloxy; R3 = phenyl (opt. substd. by lower alkyl, halogen or nitro) or pyridyl; R4 & R5 are H or together form an extra CN bond, in which case the N-atom at posn. 4 may contain an -O atom.
