PURPOSE:To obtain transparent beads extremely effective in obtaining a light- reflecting paint excellent in recognizability in the (early) morning, twilight, or night (with street lightening) or in a rain or fog by covering the whole surfaces of transparent beads with a specific transparent resin. CONSTITUTION:Transparent beads are covered on the whole surfaces with a transparent resin such as poly(methyl methacrylate), a polycarbonate, or a specific polystyrene to obtain the objective beads. The resin should contain a fluorescent pigment dispersed therein. For example, a reflective paint 5 is prepared by mixing a poly(methyl methacrylate) resin 2 containing a fluorescent orange pigment 1 dispersed therein with glass beads 4 covered on the whole surfaces with the same resin 3, and this paint 5 is used to draw a lane mark 7 on a road surface 6 (8: white undercoat). |
