PURPOSE:To obtain the subject foamed product which is useful as a biodegradable substitute for cushioning materials by covering a cellulosic porous formed product with dense shells of cellulose. CONSTITUTION:A slurry mainly consisting of cellulose is cast into a mold of a desired shape and while heating and being kept under a reduced pressure by a vacuum pump, a molded product comprising dense shells and a porous body inside is formed. The dense shells contributes to maintenance of the shape of the product and the high strength, while the porous inside to cushioning, heat insulation, soundproofing and water retention. |
