<p>PURPOSE:To provide a small-sized and inexpensive radar apparatus which can measure not only relative distance and relative velocity with respect to an object but also own absolute velocity in an on-vehicle FM-CW radar apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A radar apparatus comprises a transmission antenna 36 for sending outputs of modulation circuits 10, 12 for generating frequency-modulated transmission waves to a first object located in a first direction, a transmission antenna 40 for sending the outputs to a second object located in a second direction and a switch circuit 44 for selectively supplying the outputs to the transmission antennas 36, 40. Further it comprises a reception antenna for receiving reflected waves from the first object, a reception antenna 42 for receiving reflected waves from the second object, and a signal processing circuit for calculating the relative distance and the relative velocity with respect to the first object and the relative velocity with respect to the second object from demodulated signals of a demodulation circuit 18 which demodulates the received waves from the reception antennas 38, 42 to generate the demodulated signals.</p> |
