PURPOSE:To obtain a reversible thermal color changeable material reversibly changed in color and forming a sharp image free from color mixture and having high contrast by providing a layer containing a thermally color-erasable microcapsule and a thermally color-developable microcapsule on a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermally color-developable microcapsule containing a compd. represented by formula I (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group, R2 is a hydrogen atom or an amino group, X is a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group, Y is a hydrogen atom or a 1-2C alkoxy group and m and n are 1 or 2), an electron acceptive compd. and a discoloration temp. control compd. is prepared while a thermally color-erasable microcapsule containing 3,3-bis(p- dimethylaminophenyl)phthalide, an electron acceptive compd. and a discoloration control compd. is prepared. A mixed dispersion of two kinds of these microcapsules is prepared to be applied to a support such as fine paper and dried to produce a reversible thermally color-changeable material having a color forming and erasing layer. |
