PURPOSE:To provide the refractories for continuous casting which is improved in the prevention of longitudinal crack by thermal impact and corrosion resistance and is used for an immersion nozzle, long nozzle, etc. CONSTITUTION:The refractories consist of an Al2O3-Cr2O3 type matrix which is the sintered body of Al2O3-Cr2O3 type and has a dense and fine structure and the second Phase dispersed therein. The matrix contains controlled fine cracks and the second phase to be dispersed is the flocculated mater consisting of a uniform mixture composed of the matrix and unstabilized zirconia. The matrix consists of 100 to 40wt.% Al2O2 and 0 to 60wt.% Cr2O3 and preferably contains <=1.5wt.% TiO2. The matrix is the uniformly flocculated grains in which the size of the dispersed second phase is 10 to 200mum; the ratio of the dispersed second phase is 10 to 200mum; the ratio of the second phase occupying the matrix is 10 to 35wt.%; the grain size of the unstabilized zirconia in the second phase is 0.3 to 20mum and the ratio of the unstabilized zirconia in the second phase is 5 to 100vol.%. |
