PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency for separating walking animals by rationally improving the process for controlling a separation means which switches a separation apparatus between a state to inhibit the intrusion of a walking animal into a separation part and a state to allow the entering of the animal. CONSTITUTION:A following-animal detection means 8 detects whether a following walking animal is present before the inlet of a separation part D or not. When there is no following animal, a separation means R keeps the entering- allowing state even if a walking animal is present in the separation part D by a controlling means 9 based on the detection information transmitted from separated animal detecting means 6, 7 to detect whether a walking animal is present in the separation part D and from the following-animal detection means 8. |
