PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium largely reduced in the wavelength dependence of reflectivity and enhanced in recording sensitivity by providing a recording layer containing a dye mixture of two kinds of specific org. dyes and a reflecting layer on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Specified amounts of an org. dye represented by formula I (wherein X<-> is a paired anion) and an org. dye represented by formula II (wherein X<-> is a paired anion) are dissolved in an org. solvent to prepare a coating solution for a recording layer. This coating solution is applied to a substrate composed of a thermoplastic resin, a thermosetting resin or glass under rotation and dried to form the recording layer. A reflecting layer having high reflectivity is laminated on the recording layer by the sputtering or vapor deposition of gold, silver, copper or aluminum to produce an optical recording medium. The obtained optical recording medium is excellent in recording sensitivity and shows high reflectivity and is reduced in the wavelength dependence of reflectivity to the wavelength of reproduction light and the fluctuations of characteristics are reduced even he change of the wavelength of the reproduction light of a reproduction device. |
