PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material good in color forming sensitivity, recording characteristics and preservability by providing a thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye, a developer and a specific sensitivity enhancer on a support. CONSTITUTION:A colorless-light-colored leuco dye, a developer forming a color upon the contact with the leuco dye and a sensitivity enhancer composed of a benzyl compound represented by formula I (wherein Y and X are a 2-6C alkyl group, a 1-6C alkoxy group or a halogen atom and n and m are an integer of 0-5 but are not 0 at the same time) or a benzophenone derivative represented by formula II (wherein R1-R10 are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group) are dissolved or dispersed in an aqueous solution of a water-soluble polymeric binder by predetermined amounts to prepare a coating solution. This coating solution is applied to a support such as fine paper or a plastic film and dried to form a thermal recording material having a thermal color forming layer. |
