PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material forming a developed color image excellent in preservability and stability against oils and fats. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer based on a leuco dye and a developer forming a color upon the contact with the leuco dye is provided on a support, polyvinyl alcohol wherein the steric configuration of a hydroxyl group has a syndiotactic structure whose syndiotacticity is 55% or more is used as the binder contained in the recording layer. At this time, it is effective to set syndiotacticity to 55-65%. |
