摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To allow proper warning of an obstacle without confusing an automobile running ahead with a road reflector or the like by checking a sensing region of a beam divided according to a road condition against a distance to be measured. CONSTITUTION:A processing-determining part comprising a microcomputer reads sensing region section data to a long distance, an intermediate distance and a short distance against from a ROM to check them against a distance to an object. Before entering a left curve for example, since short distance and intermediate distance regions of the center beam sensing region includes its own running path, the object in the region is an automobile running ahead and the long distance region is an adjacent running path, so that the object if sensed is an automobile which is not to be an obstacle, or a reflector. On the other hand, in a sensing, region of a right beam, the short distance region includes its own running path, but the intermediate and long distance regions are the adjacent running path. In the case of a left beam, a range from the short distance to the long distance is all its own running path and the sensed object is an automobile running ahead which may possibly be an obstacle.</p>
