PURPOSE:To provide the subject fluid which is a kind of a flame-retarding hydraulic fluid and is excellent in sliding and rolling lubiricity. CONSTITUTION:This fluid contains 0.01-3.0wt.% ether compound of the general formula: R1-O-R2-OH (wherein R1 is a 1-8C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group; and R2 is a 2-3C bivalent hydrocarbon group). The fluid can markedly prolong the life of a rolling bearing used in a hydraulic pump or motor, has sliding and rolling lubiricity at least equivalent to that of a mineral oil hydraulic fluid and has excellent flame retardancy which is deficient in a mineral oil hydraulic fluid. |
