A brush unit, which is especially intended to be used for cleaning a surface 7 of a vehicle body in a spray painting plant, has firstly a brush roller 1 having essentially radial cleaning bristles 8 and secondly a casing 2 which encloses the brush roller 1 over a part of its circumference. A connecting member 5 is arranged to connect the casing 2 to a suction device for sucking air out of the interior of the casing. The brush roller 1 also has supporting bristles 9 for supporting the cleaning bristles 8. The supporting bristles 9 are stiffer than the cleaning bristles 8 and extend essentially radially outwards to a level somewhat inside the outer ends of the cleaning bristles 8. <IMAGE> |
