<p>PURPOSE:To provide the input unit overcoming the drawback of a mouse and permitting an unskilled operator to direct the coordinate shift with a simple operation. CONSTITUTION:A table 1 with electrodes 1y in the Y direction arranged under an upper sheet 1A and with electrodes 1x in the X direction arranged on a lower sheet 1B. When touching the tablet 1 by hand, the electrodes 1y and 1x are come into contact with each other corresponding to the pressing section. The electrodes 1y and 1x of the tablet 1 are connected to a scanning circuit 2 to detect the contact information of the electrodes 1y and 1x and the contact information of each frame is stored in RAM 3. Based on the contact information of the current frame stored in the RAM 3 and the contact information before one frame, CPU 5 and 6 discriminate the coordinate shift input and switch input, and transmits the result to the computer or to the keyboard through an interface circuit 8. As the operation is as simple as just moving a finger touched on the tablet 1, it is easy for an unskilled operator. The drawback of a mouse slowing down the operation due to the dirt of a ball can be eliminated.</p> |
