<p>PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal display device able to attain excellent display when a video signal with a different aspect ratio is displayed on the liquid crystal display panel having the same aspect ratio as that of a predetermined specific video signal. CONSTITUTION:A data signal line drive circuit 6 connecting to a liquid crystal display panel 1 consists of a left end use drive circuit 6L, a center part use drive circuit 6C, a right end use drive circuit 6R corresponding to three data signal line groups of left end, a center part and a right end divided along the arrangement direction of data signal lines respectively, and when a video signal having a different aspect ratio from that of the liquid crystal display panel 1 for the first and last horizontal scanning periods is displayed on display lines to an upper and a lower part of the liquid crystal display panel 1 and the video signal is displayed so as to display only a picture element corresponding to a data signal line 2 connecting to the center part drive circuit 6C, the left end use drive circuit 6L and the right end use drive circuit 6R are simultaneously operated before or after the operation of the center part use drive circuit 6C is operated.</p> |
