<p>PURPOSE:To suppress a row-directional and a column-directional increase in overlap area and to prevent the yield of a TFT-LCD substrate from decreasing by connecting the other storage capacity terminal to the gate terminal of its precedent stage. CONSTITUTION:Plural TFTs are arranged in matrix, the gates of the respective row-directional TFTs are connected in parallel, and gate signals VG1, VG2, VG3... as row select signals are applied, row by row; and the drains of the column-directional TFTs are connected in parallel, drain signals VD1, VD2, VD3... as data signal for a picture element display are applied, column by column, and a signal Vcom and the inverse of Vcom are applied to odd-numbered row electrodes and even-numbered row electrodes of the opposite substrate, so that the liquid crystal display device operates. One liquid crystal capacity terminal and one storage capacity terminal are connected to the source of each of the TFTs, and the signal Vcom or its inverted signal is applied to the other liquid crystal capacity terminal, which is connected to the gate electrode of its precedent stage.</p> |
