<p>PURPOSE:To provide the driving method which reduces the smear of an active matrix liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION:In the active matrix drive type liquid crystal display device, the positive polarity and negative polarity signals of an optional display signal are applied in a selection time (1H) of one scanning line. Therefore, this driving method applies the positive-polarity and negative polarity signal of the optional display signal in the selection time (1H) of one scanning line, so the quantity of variation that the source terminal potential VS of an optional TFT has owing to a drain potential which should be applied to the source terminal of another TFT is reduced. The picture quality of the active matrix liquid crystal display is therefore improved.</p> |
