<p>PURPOSE:To make transparent electrodes hardly disconnectable and to decrease the uneven gaps of a liquid crystal display element so as to improve its display grade by providing the colored glass embedded into the recesses bored on a transparent substrate and the transparent electrodes formed on the transparent substrate including the colored glass. CONSTITUTION:The recesses 2R, 2G, 2B which are the same as the arranging patterns of the colors of the color filter are bored on the surface of the transparent substrate 1 and the colored glass 3R, 3G, 3B are embedded therein. The three colors; R, G, B vary in transmittance and therefore the depths of the recesses vary respectively. The transparent electrodes 4 consisting of ITO, 'NESA', etc., are formed on the transparent substrate 1 contg. such colored glass 3R, 3G, 3B. The colors of the color filter are formed within the transparent substrate in such a manner, and therefore the surface of the color filter can be flattened without coating with a resin, etc., even if the heights of the colors vary with the colors. Since the hardness of the colored glass is equal to the hardness of the transparent substrate, the hardness of the surface is uniformalized.</p> |
