The mezuzah, holding a scripture text, comprises a box (1) with a housing for a roll of parchment (11), and screw holes (30,31) by which the box may be attached to a door. Inside the box there is also an electronic voice reproduction system, activated by sliding a cover (6) between closed and open positions. The circuit includes a battery, control and message memory, linked to a filter and amplifier with loudspeaker. The sliding cover moves at least 20 mm, and requires a force of (150-500) grammes to move it. USE - Storage of religious messages, used by member of Jewish faith as protection for occupants of building and their guests.
