The machine is designed to produce a series of perforations, or holes, in all types of wood. It is more specifically intended to be used on posts and to enable them to be impregnated with chemical products along the given length of perforated post from the end, which is intended to be in the ground. An entry support (1) carries the post (2) up to a stop (9), which can be adjusted for position. A V-section support cradle provides support for the post during the perforation operation. The post is driven in a series of successive rotations, with a stationary period between each burst of driving. During each pause the perforation carriage (7) is driven in translation, to and fro, along the post to produce the perforations. USE/ADVANTAGE - It enables good penetration of chemical products, without any significant reduction in mechanical strength of post.
