PURPOSE:To prevent the deposition of crystals at the time of forming a recording layer and to enhance shelf stability by coating a substrate with a coating soln. for forming a recording layer prepd. by dissolving a dye stuff in a solvent in an atmosphere of nitrogen or dry air and forming the recording layer by drying. CONSTITUTION:A dye stuff is dissolved in a solvent or a binder is further dissolved to prepare a coating soln. for forming a recording layer. The surface of a substrate 2 is coated with the coating soln. in an atmosphere of nitrogen or dry air and the resulting layer of the coating soln. is dried in the dry atmosphere to form a coating film for a recording layer. The dye stuff is preferably a polymethine, cyanine or phthalocyanine/naphthalocyanine dye stuff. The solvent is preferably ethylcellosolve, methylcellosolve, diacetone alcohol or 2, 2, 3, 3-tetra-fluoropropanol. |
