<p>PURPOSE:To perfectly prevent leakage of electrolyte at a liquid part when a battery is in transmit or the electrolyte is poured into the battery by providing a notch in that side face of an adhesive filling groove in a lid where splash preventive paper is provided. CONSTITUTION:A lid 3 used in manufacturing a lead acid battery is provided with a liquid port 1 and an adhesive filling groove 2, and that part of this groove 2 which mates with each cell chamber is furnished with a notch 7 for the adhesive to overflow. After the lid 3 is upset, splash preventive paper 4 in channel form is installed in such a way as enclosing the liquid port 1, and the groove 2 is filled with adhesive 5 to adhere fast the lid 3 to a battery jar 6. This precludes risk of the paper 4 dislocation from its normal position because of influence of the electrolyte pouring pressure or vibration and/or shocks applied when the battery is in transit or the electrolyte is poured in from the liquid port, and splash and/or atomization of the electrolyte generated when the battery is charged can be hindered perfectly. This permits preventing overflow of the electrolyte to outside the battery.</p> |
