PURPOSE:To ensure excellent running property, wear resistance and durability for a magnetic recording medium by allowing the magnetic recording medium to hold a lubricant obtd. by adding long chain hydrocarbon having hydroxyl groups in the molecule to perfluoro-polyether having a carboxyl group at a terminal. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording medium with at least a magnetic layer formed on the nonmagnetic substrate is allowed to hold a lubricant obtd. by adding long chain hydrocarbon having hydroxyl groups in the molecule to perfluoro-polyether having a carboxyl group at a terminal in 0.01-100 molar ratio of the hydrocarbon to the perfluoropolyether. Lubricity can be maintained over a long period of time even under any service conditions. |
