The scanning apparatus for simultaneously scanning and quickly reproducing memory on two tracks by using a light source, has a diffraction grid mounted between a beam splitter and a photo detecting means, two reflecting surfaces on a galvano mirror. The method is composed of splitting a radiated beam from a light source to more than two beams, simultaneously scanning more than two information tracks, separating and detecting. The apparatus comprises a laser diode for radiating laser beam, a collimator lens for making parallel beam, a beam splitter for separating diffracted reflecting beam, a galvano mirror for splitting parallel beam partially, a focusing lens for focusing the splitting beam, a diffraction grid for focusing the reflecting beam by a photo sensing means.
