The seal comprises inner (1) and outer (2) sections which grip the glass (3) between them while allowing it to slide freely, and fixing elements (20) for attaching to the vehicle bodywork. The glass is guided and retained by lips (11, 22) which make contact with its inner and outer faces. At least one of the lips has a main section (11a, 22a) and a curved tip (11b, 22b) which makes contact with the glass via a convex surface. The main section (11a, 22a) can also be curved, and the main section and additional lip can be made with different degrees of hardness. The seal can have two lips on one or both sides which flex as they interact with the glass panel but do not touch one another. ADVANTAGE - Improved glass retention and lower noise level.
