PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of dipping of a liquid into the tip of a probe when detecting a liquid surface of samples or reagents and reduce contamination between the samples or the reagents for improving analysis performance. CONSTITUTION:In an operation of a probe 2 for detecting samples 5 or reagents, it detects a liquid surface and then stops immediately, calculates the amount of remaining liquid within a storage container 4 from a liquid-surface detection position, and then descends additionally by the minimum amount of descent corresponding to be amount of remaining liquid, thus reducing the amount of dipping to the liquid of the probe 2. The amount of dipping of the probe 2 is controlled to reduce contamination between the samples 5 and the reagents. |
