The electric motor and fan (12), creates a suction through the filter (13) and draws rubbish into the removable collecting drawer (3) through the nozzle (8) and the flexible pipe (7) which is wound onto the rotating drum (4). The fan exhausts to the open air. A non-return catch (10) engages in the outside of the flexible tube. The equipment is contained in a protective casing (1), and may be packaged to suit the vehicle. ADVANTAGE - The system may be embodied in the vehicle during build, and may be used at any convenient time, e.g. when halted in traffic.
