Electrochemical voltage generators, especially reserve batteries. The invention concerns, in particular, means for achieving output electrical connections. The battery (1) of the invention comprises a sequence of at least three cells (CC1, C1 to C12, CC2) each including two electrodes (EC+, E+, E-, EC-) separated by an electrolyte (8). The first and last cell in this sequence constitute so called connecting cells (CC1, CC2) in which the outermost connecting electrode (EC+, EC-) supplies a polarity ("+", "-") of the voltage produced by the battery. According to one feature of the invention, the two connecting electrodes (EC+, EC-) are chemically inert with respect to the electrolyte (8). In this manner, the connecting electrodes (EC+, EC-) can be coupled to a load (CU), whilst maintaining contact with the electrolyte (8) even during a non-operating phase of the battery (1). |
