PURPOSE:To accurately reflect the percussing intention of a percussion player at the start of percussion on characteristics of a musical sound to be generated and to securely mute the musical sound being generated according to the intention of the percussing operation. CONSTITUTION:A percussion detection signal detected by a pickup 11 is converted by an A/D converter 14 into a digital signal. The maximum value of the digital signal which is inputted within a specific time after said value of the digital signal exceeds 5, is detected and a musical sound having characteristics corresponding to the maximum value is generated. Then, when the state wherein the digital signal becomes less than 2 is detected from the A/D-converted value 14, a timer 21 is started to mute the sound a specific time later. |
