Two pneumatic absorbers (7,8) are mounted transversely between the bogie and the vehicle body. Supply to the two absorbers is by electrovalves (18,19) which modify the lateral force in response to control signals (SCG,SCD) issued by a regulator (26). A detector (13) is sensitive to a parameter connected to the displacement (X) of the body relative to the bogie. The electrovalves are located downstream of the passive regulator (31) relative to the pressurised air source (29). The valves are in the supply state when the sender (33) is activated by the regulator (31) which, delivering a constant pressure, is mounted in parallel with a pipe (32). The sender (33) connects to the pressurised air source (29) either through the regulator (31) or through the pipe (32). ADVANTAGE - Control of applied forces is maintained if there is a malfunction of one of the elements.
