The mirror (3) is installed in a housing with two electromagnets (14,15) having their armatures fixed to the back of the glass on opposite sides of the pivot axis (2). One electromagnet (15) serves for dipping the mirror to prevent dazzle from headlamps of a following vehicle, and the other electromagnet (14) for restoration to the normal position. The glass is held in either position by a spring-loaded bolt (9) pressed against the pivot shaft. ADVANTAGE - All rear-view mirrors within and outside vehicle can be tilted simultaneously into dipped position easily and quickly by single switch.
