The proposal is for an electromagnetic valve, especially for pressurised water lines, which permits the use of low-power exciting coils (2). To this end a seal (16) is movable coupled to the armature (9) via a shaft (13). Thus the armature (9) can move when the valve is attracted without load in a zone in which the force developed by the magnetic field is great and hence a low-power exciting coil (2) suffices to open the valve against the pressure in the line.
