A dental articulator has an upper (3) and a lower (2) arm which extend forwards. The upper arm (3) is attached to the support (6) by bearings which allow it to be swung about the axis (5) which is at right angles to the vertical central plane. The upper arm is formed by either of two interchangeable members (37a) each of which has an attachment (19) to receive the base of a model of the patient's upper jaw. The attachment is so positioned on both of the interchangeable members that when the model of the upper jaw is fitted it is correctly aligned with the model of the lower jaw mounted on the lower arm (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - Fitting a patient with dentures. The interchangeable arm enables different models of the upper jaw to be tested quickly.
