The bar=code arrangement for indicating product and price details used multiple coding, each with a different colour. The bar code is formed with different width bars and in a conventional arrangement has a single colour. The same information content can be represented in a smaller surface area by housing multiple patterns in, for example, red, green and blue colours. Each colour bar code is read by a single photo diode. USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduces area required for bar=code, so allows more information to be represented in same area.
