The motor vehicle has a U-profiled supporting strut, which is associated with its underside. Tubing, hoses, etc extend in the direction of the strut, for fuel, hydraulic or brake fluid, or compressed air, and electrical cables. At least one wall (2,4) of the supporting strut (1) is recessed over part of its width for part of the height of the strut. The tubing/cables are located on this wall. The wall section carrying the tubing etc has a cover (10). ADVANTAGE - Prevents damage to tubes, cables, etc, when on non-asphalted roadways, and during collisions, gives protection esp. to fuel lines.
