To produce a dental bridge or crown of titanium, a casting is made with a positioning holder at the crown to be made before the negative ring mould is prepd.. The negative ring mould is split into three parts by a three-pronged insert in a holder. A cap of titanium for the crown metal, prepared in advance for the crown size, is inserted into the die, with a wall thickness of 0.15-0.35 mm, as a casting taken from the positioning holder. After removal of the casting from the negative ring mould, low melting metal is melted out of the shaped crown. If required, two or more such crowns can be suitably linked together to form a dental bridge. USE/ADVANTAGE - The method allow denstal prostheses to be made with relatively thin metal foil for the crowns with sturdier walls, in a rapid and simple process. |
