A door, which no longer provides a close fit, is renovated by covering the door post (16) with a cover section (24). This cover section is so dimensioned that it fits the rebate formed in the edge of the door (60) and so restores the close fit of the door with the doorpost as was the case when the door was originally installed. A gap (64) is formed between the edge (62) of that part of the door which projects beyond the rebate and the end edge of that part of the cover section (24). This attaches the cover section to the door post. USE/ADVANTAGE - For both inside and outside doors. The method makes it unnecessary to remove the old door post.
