The guide rail with saw tooth rack (17-20) projecting from the outer side (16) supports a carriage (27) with two runners (30,31) gliding along the head of the rail (32). A pawl and ratchet (28) consisting of a rack (37) slides over the top (23) of the saw teeth, and it can be tilted so that one or other of its jaws (38) engages in the hollow (40) between the saw teeth. The opposite jaw (39) presses against the underside (41) of the guide rail, and the two runners are lifted off the head of the rail. The guide rail is flanged and its upper surface (32) serves as running surface for the runners, while the underside (41) of the flange (33) is used as a gripping surface for one of the jaws (39).
