The actuator system is used for moving a variable weir used in a river. It uses water as the hydraulic fluid and the water holder (1) consists of stand pipe (2) which is connected to the bottom inlet (5) of a water tight bag (3) by a seal (5). The top inlet of the bag (6) is held by a ring (8) which can be raised and lowered to alter the water level height. The dia. of the cylindrical bag (3) is greater than the OD of the stand pipe, and as the weir is lowered. the bag folds down over the pipe. USE/ADVANTAGE - Hydrostatic barrier with variable water level incorporates water holder which does not require radial support.
