<p>In an internal combustion engine of this kind, the intake valve (5) has a funnel-shaped combustion chamber (18) which widens towards the cylinder (2), is situated in the intake duct (16, 17) of the cylinder cover (4) and, at the circumference, comprises a plurality of scavenging slots (23) and an injection nozzle (20) arranged in the funnel tip (19). A combustion system for engines with specific air movement is thereby created. By virtue of the structural combination of the intake valve, the injection valve (21) and the combustion chamber in a cylindrical, vertically displaceable actuating element (12) in conjunction with a pneumatic system (34), a variable compression ratio is furthermore achieved. <IMAGE></p> |
