PURPOSE:To discriminate a minute disconnection of a yarnlike body by irradiating a laser light to the traveling yarnlike bodies and detecting the reflected light. CONSTITUTION:Light L emitted from a laser emitter 2 scans and is irradiated on the full parts of a plurality of yarnlike bodies 1 from their substantially rectangular direction, which travel through a semitransparent mirror 3 and the mirror surface 4a of a rotary multifaced mirror 4. The reflected light L from the yarnlike bodies 1 reaches again the semitransparent mirror 3 on the same route, and is reflected and injected into a detector 5. This detector 5 converts the laser light L which the detector 5 has received into an electrical signal, and an amplifies and pulse- shapes the electrical signal and a counter 7 counts the same. On the other hand, reference signals corresponding to the total number of the yarnlike bodies are set beforehand by a reference signal setting device 8, and the output of the pulse counter 7 is compared with the reference signal by a comparator 9. When there is no disconnection, a signal of nomality is produced, but when plural disconnections are found, a signal of accident is produced. By these procedures, the disconnection of the yarnlike bodies 1 is constantly monitored. |
