<p>PURPOSE:To ensure that adequate thermal recording function and thermal deletion function are obtained and the compact and low cost version of a thermal head is available. CONSTITUTION:The subject thermal head is composed of a thermal resistor, a group of electrodes which are electrically connected to the thermal resistor, and at least, a protecting layer 30 which covers the thermal resistor, on the surface of a glazed layer 24 provided on a plate-like substrate 20. The thermal resistor 28, 29 has thermal resistor arrays arranged parallel with the other. These thermal resistors 28, 29 are of two types, each for thermal recording and thermal deletion, and their respective thermal temperatures are different from each other. Consequently, these thermal resistors make a single thermal head incorporating both thermal recording function and thermal deletion function. Besides, each thermal resistor can be driven under control alone, thus enabling data to be thermally recorded and deleted adequately. In addition, it is possible to obtain the compact version of a thermal head having both functions and in turn, manufacture a writable thermal recording device of compact design at low cost.</p> |
