A toner for comprises coloured resin particles with vol. average particle size of 4-10 microns; a wt.% (based on coloured resin) of a hydrophilic inorganic oxide A; and b wt% of a hydrophilic inorganic cpd. B. A has an absolute value of triboelectric charge amt. of 50 micro c/g or more and a BET specific area (Sa) of 80-300m2/g, and B has an absolute value of triboelectric charge amt. of 20 micro c/g or less, and a BET specific area (Sb) of 30-200 m2/g. With the provisos that: Sa is at least-Sb, a is at least = b; and (a+b)=0.3-1.5.
