摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To decrease the burden of a living body due to pressing of a pulse wave sensor by providing a means for setting the pressing force of a pulse wave sensor lower by a prescribed value than the optimum pressing force and maintaining the sensor at the lowered pressing force during the stabilization of a blood pressure. CONSTITUTION:The blood pressure value is continuously determined by a blood pressure value determining means in accordance with the pressure pulse waves successively detected by the pulse wave sensor maintained at the optimum pressing force by a pressing force regulating means. The pressing force of the pulse wave sensor is set lower by the prescribed value than the optimum pressing force and is maintained at this pressure in such a manner that the actual peak intervals are maintained within a prescribed value of the peak intervals at the time of the stabilization by a second pressing force adjusting means, when the blood pressure value at the optimum pressing force is decided to be stable by a blood pressure value stabilization deciding means. Whether the change in the blood pressure value takes places or not is decided according to whether the peak intervals are maintained within the prescribed range or not by a blood pressure value change deciding means. As a result, the pressing force of the pulse wave sensor is lowered and the blood pressure value is adequately monitored when the blood pressure value is stabilized.</p>
