PURPOSE:To perform a quiet operation by reducing sound leaked from a suction port of an upper part of an indoor unit. CONSTITUTION:An openable cover 6 is provided at a suction port 5 of an upper part of an indoor unit 3 to have a first operation mode in which it is operated in a state that the cover 6 is opened and a second operation mode in which it is operated in a state that the cover 6 is closed. When the second mode is selected, the port 5 is closed, and wind crossing sound of an indoor fan 11, sound of refrigerant flowing through an indoor heat exchanger 9 are not leaked to a ceiling side in a room through the port 5. Accordingly, noise is reduced, and a quiet operation can be performed. This operation is optimum for a sound sleep at the time of sleeping. |
